I wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs coming from the kitchen. I get dressed and walk in to be greeted with a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. I see my Nana's blond poofy hair and her rosy red cheeks, I see her beautiful smile and her blue sparkling eyes. She always looks dazzling to me.
As I sit down to eat my breakfast she turns on the T.V. to watch her favorite show. I think of what I'll do today or if I'll do anything at all. My Nana reminds me that I can go play in the neighborhood, so I go and play with some other kids for a while but return to Nana for lunch. We decide that we will just be lazy for the day.
Since the day I was born one of the people who loved me most was my nana. She has always been there for me and will be there in the future, I hope. She is someone that I love with all my heart. She is important to me because no matter what I do or who I choose to be she will take me in with open arms. That's one of the best qualities in my nana.
As winter days pass we sit and snuggle on the couch. Day turns to night and she makes us some hot cocoa, then we sit down to play a board game or two. We finish the game we are playing and decide it's time to call it a night. I get my bed ready and she walks in to give me a good nights kiss. To me she is the best in the entire world, and she's my nana.
The best time I've ever had with my nana was when we went to see a play in Louisville called The Lion King. The actors were so exciting as they moved around in strange costumes dancing and saying their lines. Every time something funny would happen I would look over and see her smiling face. That was one of my favorite memories with my Nana because it showed me that Nana could sit back and relax for a while. It showed me the side of her that likes to have fun.
Another memory that I recall is when we would stay up late and drink hot cocoa while we played board games. We would always set up this little basketball board game on the kitchen floor and lay down and play it. I would always win and I wondered if she was letting me win. This was special to me because she chose to do this instead of watch TV or take a nap. She always put me first when she could.
After a day at Nana's I go to bed knowing I have to leave tomorrow. I awake to see my mother's face over me telling me to get up. Sadly, my time is over but I'll wait till next weekend where heaven comes back and the most beautiful angel in heaven is my nana. I love my Nana with all my heart, not because she spoils me but because she makes me have such a good time when I'm around her and when I think of her. We have so much fun, I wish my time there would never stop.
