Its that time of year again, School is in session. Gone are the long days of summer when you did not have to get up earlier to get the family out the door and on their way. Not only is the house turned upside down but so are our neighborhoods. The streets are buzzing about with children and trafic just got heavier by adding all those school busses. Moms and Dads are shuffling of children to schools on opposite sides of town.
Here are a few things to help ease the stress and to help manage your time better.
Start at Home
- Have everyone lay their clothes out the night before.
- Set the Kitchen table the night before for breakfast.
- Set coffee pot timer if you need your coffee in the morning.
- Limit shower times for everyone showering in the morning.
- Have older siblings assist with getting the young ones ready.
- Set the alarm earlier to compensate for the extra activity in the morning.
Commuting
- Give yourself more time than in the summer months.
- Car pool to work instead of driving alone.
- Take public transportation instead of driving.
- Split the drop offs with spouse or neighbor for children.
- Try to avoid major school bus routes,Use alternative routes if available.
Remember most accidents accur when you are stressed or rushing and not paying attention 100%. Don't become a victim of this major change in life's schedule. If you plan well ahead of time who knows you actually may start enjoying mornings.
