Resources for Mom and Dad

New parents always have questions. Here are some place to look for answers, for both the new mom and the new dad.

New parents always need resources. This is something experienced by every parent. The questions, the concerns the doubts all rise up, and enter the mind of any parent. Below is a list of ten online links to cover the needs and questions of a new mom or a new dad.

A Doula is a woman who assists another through and after a pregnancy. If you are in need of having questions answered or to just get some guidance or understanding about what you are dealing with you can check out the Doula Network. This international group also facilitates support for those who have post partum depression, which by the way, can start before you give birth. Should you establish that you as a new mom have Post Partum Depression. Even the new dad should keep this in mind as post partum issues arise from hormones and may not easily be recognized by a new mom.

As new parents, the sleepless nights can mount quickly, and a positive relief is needed. So is time to still be together as adults the easiest way to do this is the babysitter. One fantastic resource for finding a qualified baby sitter is Sitter City. If you have pets or want a nanny this is a good site to consult as well. Everyone on this site is part of a qualified network of providers.

Communication with your child is an important foundation that can begin with a few simple steps. The first would be to visit Wee Hands and learn how you can begin to teach your child sign language. This is an important method that should be used by both parents, not just the one who stays home most often with the child.

Another area new moms and dads have questions about tend to be about breastfeeding. Two great mom-to-mom resources include Pumping Moms and cafe Mom.com. These are not the recognized experts, these are moms who share experience and offer support, and understand where you are when you are asking what to do and why.

Moms and dads are built different and will at times have different questions and concerns. Sometimes if the family is together they can get the questions answered, but if it is not something so easily approached, new dads should check out Father Ville. This resource provides forums, blogs, interviews and more for the new father and into your child's adulthood. Searching for additional information? Go to Father Hood. Between the two sites a loving father will have all they need to balance and learn what is involved.

This last one is very specific to the mom. This woman is a personal life coach for moms, helping them to learn how to balance being mommy and still being happy without giving up who they are as women.
