Potty training for some is an easy feat. For others, it is so frustrating. Here are a few tips to use while in the process of training.
Often a child will easily manage one function and not the other. Every child is different and if you have more than one child, you can attest to that fact. Potty training is no different. Read all the information you can get your hands on and decide what will work for you and your child. Note that not everything will work the same way for each child so take advice with a grain of salt.
I had a child who would pee into the toilet easily but going number two in the toilet was a painful training process. Here are a few things I tried.
I allowed her to sit on the toilet fully diapered to go. Then we would empty the diaper into the toilet. Each day I would loosen the closure flaps on her diaper until she didn't need it there anymore.
Blowing her nose was one tip I gained. The same muscles are used in the process so if she needs to go, it will help move things along. This also takes her mind off of what she is trying to do - or doo doo!
