Your kids should have what others have.
It's not because all his classmates in schools have Wii in their house, your should get one for him.

hat if your ex has more money than you do? You can't actually change your ex. If he's the type who wants to be the better provider , don't compete with him for that role. I know it hurts when you hear your teen girl say. “ I'm going to Dad''s because he'll buy me the nice top I saw in the mall last week.

We can sometimes be secretive about money. But this will only put your kid in a position of conspiring with you thus he will perceive that deception is okay. This could also lead you into trouble when your husband asks you “Where did the money go?”
Solution: Always tell your spouse whenever you buy things for your kids.
Not monitoring what your kids spend their money on.
You may think this is an invasion of your kid's privacy. But is it not important that as a parent you should know how they spend their money so you'll know what they value?
Solution: You don't have to require them to give you a detailed accounting of their expenses. Just use your good common sense in order for you to have an idea of their spending habits. With this, you will be able to sense problems and be able to correct them the earliest possible time. Pay attention if your children are spending more money than they should.
