Why do you love your kids?
Now you're probably thinking, why would a person ask why I love my kids? You would probably say, "... because he or she is my kid." Well, these are my reasons for loving my kids
I have four beautiful kids. My oldest boy is nineteen, and before he came I prayed every day to die. My life was always hard. When my son smiles, I don't care how bad things are going. When he smiles, he would brighten the world around me. Then I can endure everything that is going wrong in my life.
My only daughter, who is my princess, is seventeen. She has a heart of gold, but tries real hard to hide it. Recently, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to get one of my breasts removed, and my daughter got me through this because she was so strong. She had to take on all the responsibilities. She took home her studies so she could see to my younger boys. She had to go to the school for my younger son because he took my cancer really hard and started giving the teachers a hard time.
My daughter had to ride the bus to pay bills and find a ride from her friend and my oldest son's girl friend to go grocery shopping. She would scrub my counter with bleach like I like them. She cleaned the whole house. She washed my boys' clothes,and cooked for them.
I think it's a little better now since I finished my chemo. She is still over-protective of me. She still makes my boys go to school and helps me and doesn't let me lift anything heavy. It hurts me because I took her childhood away. She had to be an adult before she was supposed to be, and never complained. There is no other daughter in the world I would rather have. She will always be my little princess.
My middle son? Everybody would want him for their son because he is no trouble at all. He is very smart. He made me very proud when he took the test for John Hopkins University. I never had transportation. He missed out on a lot of opportunities. It would hurt me, but he always brings me good grades. He wants a job, but he is not old enough. When we stayed in San Bernardino, he used to help this man sell candy. The man thought he was a good worker. He can cook pork chops to die for. He and my daughter always buy me pretty nice things. My fourteen-year-old son and my daughter are alike - they are there to help me. If it wasn't for them, I don't know where I would be. My oldest son and my youngest are alike - they need me and I like that they still me make me feel needed.
Now my baby, he is twelve. My other kids say I spoil him too much. I always tell them that he is my baby. He is my last child. He is so friendly and kind to all people. He is a happy child all the time. The only time I've seen him bad was when he found out I had cancer. When it wasn't chemo week, he would have me to walk him to school. He called that our alone time - and we would talk all the way to school. He was never embarassed about my hair coming all the way out it hurt me.
I love all my kids, because they love me no matter how bad things got. They always accept me for who I am and that's a handful. I have bipolar and seizure-like sickness, and now cancer. I got beautiful perfect kids, and they got a sickly mom with a mental problem. They love me anyway, and I love them.
That's why I ask the question why do you love your kids?
