Is Your Parent Always Late? How to Make Sure Your Parent is on Time For Your Wedding

A couple's wedding day is such a happy occasion that family and friends can share in. But what if you have a perpetually late parent and you are afraid that they will be late for your wedding? The worry of having to wait for a parent who is late to turn up can seriously affect the wedding plans.

A couple's wedding day is such a happy occasion that family and friends can share in. But what if you have a perpetually late parent and you are afraid that they will be late for your wedding? The worry of having to wait for a parent who is late to turn up can seriously affect the wedding plans. In some cases, weddings will have to be put on hold or even cancelled, especially if there is another wedding booked immediately after yours. To avoid having your wedding day marred by a parent who is often running late, read on to learn some strategies that will ensure your parent is there on time.

While planning for your wedding, it is worth considering having your parent who is often running late ride with you in the wedding party car so that you can arrive at the wedding venue together. If your father is often late, having him ride in the car with you should not cause any problems or make him feel singled out as being the one who is always running late. As fathers generally give their daughters away as they walk down the aisle, this is good practice to follow to make sure he is there in good time for your wedding.

No one wants to have to put their wedding on hold as they wait for a perpetually late parent to show up to their wedding. It is a couple's worst nightmare, as they face disgruntled guests and they have to explain to others involved in the wedding why they cannot proceed with the ceremony on time. But if your parent is always running late for appointments, special occasions and other events, you will need to accept that it is not easy for people to change. Even parents who have every intention of making it on time can end up in the same cycle of behaviour on one of the most important days of their child's life. To avoid this happening to you, ask a trusted friend or relative to pick up your parent and bring them to the wedding. This would work out well in most situations if it is not possible to include both parents in your wedding party car.

It is certainly possible to enjoy your wedding day, even if that means working through the potential problems that could arise if a perpetually late parent does not show up on time for your wedding. Just make sure that you have some solid plans in place to ensure that your parent is there on time. Promises from a parent who is often late can be easily broken and that can ruin the wedding day. Don't let that happen to you.
