Hello to all. This is what it’s like to be a nanny. It’s not an easy job but it’s a good job as well. Looking after children is very rewarding. You can do the job any where. Au pair is similar to a nanny. There are some good familys out there but there are also bad ones so just remmber that. I was an Au pair in England and now I’m a nanny in New Zealand. You go on trips with the family, cook and clean and you have fun.
Disapline is not an easy part of the job but it has to be done. Be firm but kind. I guess you’re an extra pearent to the children/child. Use a differentt voice for every situation not your normal voice all the time because if you have one voice for everything you will be ignored. Every child is different so you have to work with them in a diffrent way. You get to teach the children/child new things. They pick up things you do so you have to becarefull what you say and do. Children are like sponges. You learn alot in this job. Your nanny/Au pair experience will help you when you have your own children I think. That’s all I wanted to say. Bye!
