My son loves all kinds of musical instruments, but overall I'd say he likes the drums the most. He is really quite attracted to the drums in a major way. Yes he is a bit small and has trouble reaching the drums, but I have to say he is on the right path.
For now Jacob just likes to tinker around on the drums. I strongly believe that I should buy him a real set of good drums. In fact I took my little man to Guitar Center just the other day and let him mess around on the drums there. A good starter set that will last a long long time will cost around $1000.00. I'm cool with that because I can learn with him. It seems that jazz drums are somewhat smaller and quicker making them easier to set up as well as play for a smaller person like Jacob. I looked at Grestch and Yamaha as two potential brands for Jacob. He may love them and become a great drummer one day or he may just not stick with it and move on to the next thing. It is really up to him to have his own dream. Whatever he seems to be remotely interested in that is somewhat practical I will be there to do my best to help him realize what he can do. I support him in it all. Music, sports, art, or just whatever he desires to do. I do not want to be the one that stops the young potential that this little person has.
