Children Dos and Don'ts

We bring children into this world and as parents we have responsibilities to see that they are brought up the right way. There are things we should try not to miss and things that we should miss, they are listed below.

Most adults bring children into the world, and in bringing children into the world, there are things that parents should do for their children, and things they shouldn't do. I'm going to share my thoughts with you on this subject.

  1. Don't miss your child's first word, there will only be one time this word will be their first
  2. Don't miss their first step, again, this will be the only time in their lives they will take a first step
  3. Don't miss the first time they fall down. They will need your hugs to make them feel better.
  4. Do help them to understand what's right and what's wrong, because if you don't no one else will
  5. Do teach them to have respect, honor, and honesty. It will help them greatly in life.
  6. Do be there for them at all times, as they will always need your guidance
  7. Do bring their 16th Birthday in with a bang. They are now headed for adult-hood.
  8. Do miss their first kiss, this is a sacred moment for them, you shouldn't be spying on them, do remember when you were their age, and how you didn't want your parents spying on you
  9. Do always offer them encouragement in life. They need this from you their parents.
  10. Don't ever judge their decisions. They have to live with the decisions they make.

It shouldn't matter to you, their parents if they choose to be Gay or straight, what should matter to you as a parent is that you don't reject them for the decisions they make in life. Many fathers turn their backs on sons who are Gay, it's not their fault, that's the path in life they have chosen, do love them for who they are. The same thing can be said of girls. They may have chosen to be gay; again, no father or mother should ever turn their backs on their own children. You brought them into this world. When they were old enough to make their own decisions, hopefully they made decisions that didn't disappoint you, but if you felt disappointed in something they did, keep it to yourself. You are their parents, not their judges.

It's not the quanity of time parents spend with their children that matters, it is the quality time that is all important. Life is short and children grow up too fast----don't miss the little things in their lives.
