Baby Shower

I recently hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law.

I recently hosted a Baby Shower for my Sister-in-Law. I wanted it to be very special as this will be my first time as an Aunt. I thought of ideas based upon her nursery theme, butterflies and pastel colors. I planned a finger-food menu for the convenience of my guests. I made a delicious chicken salad with walnuts and dried cranberries and made sandwiches with white and wheat bread.

I used a large butterfly shaped cookie cutter to make the sandwich shapes. I cut cucumbers into flower shapes and topped them with a seafood dip. I made a mixed green salad with mandarin oranges and a citrus dressing. I placed bowls of pastel mints, Jordan Almonds and pacifier shaped candies around. I made a 7-Up, Rainbow Sherbet punch, with a butterfly ice mold; champagne optional.

My guests were delighted, but more importantly, my Sister-in-Law was tearfully grateful for my efforts. It was a beautiful day, and a great time was had by all.
