Has it been awhile since you've called your Mom? Are there times you think you should pick up the phone but then get busy with other things? Here are ten reminders why you should drop everything and call her now.
- She supported every dream of yours even when she knew it might not come to fruition (I had aspirations of swimming with Shamoo at SeaWorld and going to SpaceCamp to become an astronaut).
- She loves you unconditionally (yes, through tantrums, hormones, mood swings, and rebellion-she's still there with open arms).
- She was strong enough to hold the bucket (and your hair) when you were sick and not even look repulsed by what she was witnessing (an art I'm still trying to perfect).
- She put up with even the most annoying people you brought over to the house (one of my dates had a stripped down muscle car that you could hear coming from 3 miles away).
- She made you sit down and practice your instrument, even when you didn't want to (and now, how many of us are kicking ourselves that we didn't stick with it?)
- She displayed even the ugliest of art projects and made it seem like a masterpiece.
- She refrained from the "I told you so's" when you did something stupid and then suffered the consequences.
- She baked cookies with you and didn't even object when you double dipped in the dough with sticky fingers you had just licked.
- She agreed to go on the most terrifying of thrill rides at the theme parks, just to ensure your safety.
- She taught you how to be the person (or parent) you are today (and never expected anything in return).
