10 Perfect/Unusual Gifts for Dad

Father's Day, birthday or just to say dad, I love you? Here are some suggestions that you can get for your hero.

Father's Day is about a month away, there is still time to look for the perfect gift for dad. He's been providing for the family, so we take this opportunity to thank him for the wonderful job done. Here are some suggestions to spoil our hero. These can also be used/bought for his birthday or any time you want to tell dad how much you love him.

Spend time

Dad loves fishing/reading/gardening? Spend time with him doing his favourite hobby and get to know him once again. Find out what's been happening with him especially if he's the strong, silent type.

Games/Sports

Organise a day of games and sports for the family, friends and neighbours. It can be so enjoyable that it may become an annual affair.

Picnic

If dad enjoys the outdoors that is not too strenuous, take him to the gardens or down by the lake to enjoy the good company of his family.

Opera/Museum/Game

Dad enjoys these activities but never had to chance to see it "live"? Get him his favourite show and give him a treat, even if it is not your cup of tea. He will appreciate your very generous gesture.

Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

How about preparing for dad a breakfast in bed? Spoil our hero and give him a treat that he likes. You can also take him our to a fancy restaurant to enjoy his steak and service.

Vine yard

Bring dad to the vine yard and let him enjoy some wine tasting and bring home a bottle for dinner later.

Beer

Pop a tab and share a cold beer with dad and trade stories, invite some of his friends along to make it more memorable.

Massage/Spa

Bring dad to a massage or spa and let him have a try how it feels to be pampered, something that he rarely allows for himself.

Line Dancing

How about introducing dad to a new activity? Line dancing is good for him as a form of exercise.

Computer Class

Introduce dad to the world of technology. This way you can communicate with him using the various functions available for example skype.

To all fathers, Happy Father's Day. Thank you for always being the pillar of support for the whole family.

Thanks for the ideas. These are not your typical gifts. I think my dad would like the beer the best!

Hi Josey

Thank you.

My dad likes the Games Day... yep, we've renamed it Dads' Games Day... lots of fun and it has become an annual affair and our numbers are growing as we start to invite our neighbors as well :)

Nice article. But line dancing? You had the guts to suggest dancing? :D

Hi Jotter

Hey, my dad did try Line Dancing... LOL... but he couldn't keep up... LOL... that's why he stopped! He can still remember the steps. When we have a gathering, he and my mom put up a little dance performance for us all.. :) great fun!

My better-half enjoys a visit from his children and a gift card to a good resturant near home, but anything is acceptable and appreciated.

What a thoughtful article Rachel! If I had another Fathers day with my Dad, we would go fishing, we always loved doing that together.
