Musical chairs is a popular favorite that is traditionally played at children's birthdays parties. Add this sweet variation of the party game, musical chairs, to your collection of tea party games and let the fun begin.
Number the chairs and then arrange around a table. Put a slip of paper into a jar for each number. Play the song “I'm A Little Teapot” and have each child skip around the table and chairs until the music stops. When the music stops, each child must sit down. Pull out one number from the jar and call it out. Whoever is sitting on the chair with that number gets to pick out a treat. They then get to pick the number from the jar and call out the number on the next round. Begin playing the music again, until everyone has had a chance to pick a treat.
I bake mini cupcakes and decorate them all different colors and use a variation of decorations. This makes choosing their treat extra special. I make sure there are lots to choose from so everyone gets what they like.
Instead of treats, they could choose a prize such as lip gloss, barrettes, nail polish, plastic jewelry, and combs. You can also pre-wrap the trinkets and then they get to choose a mystery prize.
This tea party game is fun and exciting and is sure to be a hit at your child's tea party.
