How to Give a Great Halloween Party on a Small Budget

Nine tips to make your Halloween Party Dollars stretch just a bit further.

Synopsis: Halloween kicks off the Season of Holidays. These days very few of us can continue to spend as much money on Entertainment as we used to. Here are some simple Tips and Trick to make your Halloween Party a Hit without going broke in the process.

The most important part to saving some cash on your Halloween Party is to give yourself enough time to do some pre-planning, some research and to create some things yourself instead of purchasing the often overpriced decorations and pre-made snacks. It is a proven fact that when we do things last minute, we often purchase on impulse which can end up costing us up to 50% more then was necessary. A lot of the preparation will be done before the fun begins and if you stay organized you won't find it as stressful as it sounds.

  1. Make a List of all the Guests you want to invite to your Party.

Either purchase the Invitation Cards at your local 99 cents store or you can go unique and make your own Halloween Invitations. You can find free to you Clip Arts for Halloween all over the Internet which you can use to create fun original Cards or Scrolls to send out to your friends. All you need is Card Stock, Printer and Ink. Free Photo Editing Software can be found easily as well. Make sure that you get the Invitations out in plenty of time and ask them to RSVP by …. (insert the day before you are planning on going shopping for your Party Supplies) this way you won't purchase more supplies then you need. Make sure to touch bases with your Guests on the last day of the RSVP Deadline, that way even the stragglers will be reminded that this is RSVP only!
  2. Write a Check List

Write this for all the Entertainments, Decorations, Foods and Drinks you are planning on serving during your Party
  3. Take a good look at your Check List.

Do you have any of the Items in your house already? Are there any throw away items which you can use to create decorations? Old Sheets can easily be turned into various objects. Take some time and Google easy to make Halloween Decorations.
  4. Create Your Own Treats

Instead of running out and ordering Appetizer Trays from your local Super Market or Deli you can easily create your own scary treats. Deviled Eggs, Ham/Cheese and Sweet Pickle Rolls, Devils Food Cake Squares, Potato Chips, Carmel Pop Corn.
  5. Really tight? Make it a Pot Luck Styled Halloween Party.

Every Guest needs to bring one item to eat, drink or snack on. Ask them to let you know what they are bringing when you RSVP.
  6. Make it an under $10.00 Halloween Costume Party.

Simply let everyone know that no bought Costumes are permitted. Every Guest has to come dressed in their own home made fantasy outfit.
  7. Go Decoration Shopping at your local Thrift Store or Yard Sale

Decorations for Halloween do not need to look fancy. Sometimes the more beat up the spookier they look.
  8. Skip the Alcohol.

If you are ok with your Guest drinking alcoholic Beverage they can bring their own Drinks. If you want to supply some sort of Spirit, you can always create a nice little Wine Fruit Punch. In a large “Cauldron” put together fruit flavored Wine (doesn't have to be expensive), 2 lbs of fresh fruits (strawberries, peaches, grapes are good), and some Seltzer Water. Put dry Ice around it in small bowls to give it the Witches Brew look.
  9. Make a Detailed Shopping List

When going shopping for the food and drink items, make certain you take a detailed shopping list with you and stick to it. Compare Grocery Store Ads and clip Coupons for the Items you need whenever possible. In some areas free Grocery Delivery is available for Amounts over $75.00. Why not save Gas and stress by simply ordering online and have your items delivered to you. Check into availability in your Area.
