Wilma Proops interviewed one-hundred women during boozy celebrations in Liverpool, London, Madrid, Tavira, Malibu and New York to compile this list. It is always important to have a reason for a party - here are five! The list is mainly for women but men can refer to it too in exceptional circumstances.
You've Got Divorced/Split Up
You simply must have a party for this occasion. You don't need the biggest and best party but you must have Champagne.
You've Been Promoted/Given a Pay Rise
You simply must have a party for this occasion. Do something special for your friends. Sharing your good fortune is good karma. ADVICE: It is not always a good idea to invite your boss to these parties - close friends only is the rule.
It's Your Birthday
You simply must have a party on this occasion. No matter what age you are you must have a cake.
It's Your Child's Birthday.
You simply deserve a party for another year. ADVICE: It is best to keep the part you may give your child and your party as separate affairs.
You feel like it!
This is always the best reason for having a party - the other reasons are small-fry in comparison!
