If your child is tired of the same old party year after year here is an idea for something different and fun.
Children love hot dogs so this year host a weenie roast. If you live in a small town and can have outside fires you can pick up some wood from a local camping site or check the newspaper. You won't need much probably two bundles should be enough. If fires are not allowed you can use your barbque grill to place the wood. Make sure a responsible adult is attending the fire at all times. You should have at least one adult per three children to help with the roasting.
Your checklist for the party should include at least two hot dogs per child attending but also allow for dropped dogs. The same for the buns. Hot dog chili, chips and dip. Soda or juice drinks. If your child is not intent on a birthday cake, smores keeps with the theme of the party. One very important item to remember is sticks. They need to be long enough that there is no risk of injury and make sure to have extras on hand. It's best to find these in a wooded area and get them at least the day before.
Some games that can be played is bobbing for apples, only don't put them in water. Tie them overhead on long strings. Have the children hold their hands behind them and just watch the fun.
For older children while they're sitting around the fire have them make up their own ghost stories.
I have done this kind of party for the last three years for friends of mine children and they love it. Their friends which keep expanding are already asking when the party is!
For the adults clean up is a breeze. Pick up the paper plates, cups and plastic forks and you're pretty much done.
Enjoy!
