#2 by LB, Aug 23, 2007
I am not going to check out number 40 to see if it is true, I'll take your word for it.
#3 by Darlene McFarlane, Aug 23, 2007

I was hoping someone would have the courage to try #40 to let me know if the facts are accurate. If you change your mind, let me know, OK?
#4 by C A Johnson, Aug 24, 2007

Steve, thank you for your comment. I did another check and found that you are right. A duck's quack does indeed echo however, it is difficult to hear.

Every plant and animal contains calories. It would be more correct to say: "Our bodies use up more calories digesting a stalk of celery than the celery contains. Because of that fact, when adding up your caloric intake for a day, you can consider a stalk of celery to have negative calories."

Interesting list. I didn't know I was in the process of producing 150 lbs of skin!

Lefties in fact do live as long as righties. Here's a citation:

the biggest number in the world is called a "googolplexian"
its 10 to the power of a "googolplex"
#22 by Dan Haugh, Sep 21, 2008
Great list! I do have to wonder about #11. When the rooster is castrated ,,, do his screams echo? and ... do his screams curdle camel's milk? .. if they do , a new phrase would be born. Instead of 'blood curdling' we could say. "I heard camel's-milk curdling screams from the hen house." Just a couple of thoughts to ponder .. or not! ;-)

hi
#24 by davo, Oct 14, 2008

#25 is wrong.

People are approximately an inch taller in the morning not at night. By night, the disks in our spine have been compressed due to dehydration and gravity making us approximately an inch shorter. Once we lay down to sleep the disks have a chance to rehydrate fully making us taller in the morning.
