Scrap Booking for a Wedding

A wedding scrapbook can be a wonderful way to remember a very special day. Many of the mementos of a wedding day get lost over time but by making a scrapbook you can preserve a flower, a card, a piece of ribbon or a piece of confetti that will forever be a tangible memory of your day.

More than Just the Day

Of course, you could make your wedding scrapbook just about the day itself, but particularly if you have an elaborate wedding and spent months in the preparation, your scrapbook can encompass memories surrounding the build-up to the wedding also.

For example, you could include the making of, or buying of the bride's and bridesmaid's dresses with little snippets of fabric.

If you have a wedding shower, this lends itself well to wedding scrapbooking. In addition to photos, include things in the scrapbook like a napkin or a small party favor. If the wedding shower is held at a special restaurant or function hall, include a menu or a pamphlet from the venue.

Your pre-wedding bachelor and bachelorette parties may be rather risqué, and you may not want to include photos of this, but for the couple with a sense of humor some memories of a great party can be included in your wedding scrapbook. Ideas include making a guest list of who attended, and if you remember, take a notebook where the guests can sign and write down a piece of marriage advice. Each bit of advice can be cut out and placed next to a picture of that person for a fun example of wedding scrapbooking.

Some couples have a rehearsal dinner as part of their wedding festivities. At the rehearsal dinner, often family or friends will give a speech. If this speech has been written down, ask the speaker to sign it and claim it for your wedding scrapbook.

Don't Forget the Honeymoon

Then, of course, there is the honeymoon. You may even want to make a second scrapbook of this special vacation. There are many different souvenirs from the honeymoon that you could include. Honeymoons often involve travel and attending special places or events, so next to pictures of the places that are visited, include tickets, brochures or ticket stubs.

There are numerous other ideas that you could include in your wedding scrapbook. Keep your eyes open for pieces in wedding magazines or your local newspaper and check out craft suppliers for bits and pieces to embellish your wedding scrapbook. Most of all have fun with it and enjoy your wedding day!
