Make Your Own Beautiful Valentine Card

If you have a printer and a computer, you can make your own card. It is so much more special than a store bought one.

Although you deserve roses
It's true
If you saw my heart,
You'd know I love you!

Items Needed:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Printer
  • Paper or card stock
  • Writing implement
  • Scissors, if desired

Select Your Picture

Select insert from your toolbar, scroll d own to picture, select clip art. On the left hand side of your screen Microsoft Word will open Clip Art. Type in rose in the “search for” window and press Go. Select a smaller picture as it needs to fill only half of your paper. Hit enter until your cursor is at 4 ½ inches, which is half way down the screen. Right click with your mouse and paste your picture half way down the page.

You have created the cover for your card. You can experiment with different pictures, if you like. Your card can be as unique as you are.

Create Your Message

Go half way down the next page by pressing enter until you are at 4 ½ inches.

Select Format from your tool bar. Select Font. Scroll through the fonts viewing them in the preview window until you get the size and style you want. I used Amazone 22, but you can use any you like, and can even change the color.

Type your message. You can borrow mine if you like Highlight the entire message, after you finish typing and select center to give it a more professional card appearance.

Print Your Handiwork.

Print the cover, place back in the printer to print the message inside your card, turning the paper over. Fold paper in half. You have just created your own personal card. Your card can be carefully trimmed, if desired.

Sign Your Name

Sign your name and present your valentine to your loved one. Don't be surprised if they save this one or display it for all to see.

If you desire to make an envelope you can find step by step instructions written by Chan Lee Peng.

Please let me take this moment to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day, and I hope that you feel treasured and loved on that special day, and remember to treasure and love those who care for you. It's not about money, but the special regard we hold for someone. Breakfast in bed, a foot massage, and a special act of kindness means a lot more than a box of candy, and is a lot healthier. There are many non-monetary ways to express our love.

I love this, too many people just buy stuff these days. I still like making cards and presents when I have the time. They are so much better.

I can't ever seem to write anything really romantic for Jan when I try to make her a card...although I did it one year and she LOVED it! I was disappointed in it but I guess she's the only one that matters.

Ruby, Jessica, and Nick, your support is greatly appreciated.

Nick, ladies are suckers for the mushy stuff. lol And you are right, she is the only one that matters.

Don't you just love jealous, tacky people who can't spell 'too' and 'you're?' Next time you call someone 'stupid,' think you could spell it correctly?

Miss Julie, please consult your dictionary next time before spewing hateful remarks. You need a therapist.

Joan, thank you for reading and supporting. Miss Julie has been sent to "spam land". She's had her moment of glory.
