Ingredients
- Glycerin soap squares sold at most craft stores or recycled soap (Save bar ends)
- Fresh herbs, (I love to use mint for this, it gives a fresh scent and is a natural astringent)
Equipment
- A microwave safe bowl
- A mold to pour soap into. You can buy a mold or I have found that a muffin tin or muffin top tin works great.
- Spoon
- Non-stick spray
- Wooden meat skewer
- Cookie cooling racks
To Make
- Spray the molds with non stick spray
- Melt the soap in the microwave (Following directions on package) or place broken up bar soap ends in bowl with a tablespoon of water, microwave in 15 second intervals stirring between, until melted.).
- Mix in minced herb, saving nice leaves for next step
- Pour the molds half full, let set a minute then lay a leaf of mint (or herb of choice) on the soap then pour it the rest of the way. If the herb floats use skewer to hold under surface.
- Let set till hard
- When set invert mold to release bars, if they stick run warm water across the back to soften
- Let dry on cooling racks 2 to 3 days
To wrap I use scrap gingham fabric, cut rectangles using pinking shears, center on square fold two sides toward center, twist the other two ends and tie with string or ribbon. (Like a party popper)
