There are several kinds of vegetable oils that may suit your cooking style. |
- Virgin oil, produced from the first cold pressed seeds
- Food Oil, a mixture of oils. They are refined oils produced by the industry, which are manufactured from balanced mixture of different oils, where the content is unique to each manufacturer. They are a little more expensive than base oils (sunflower, rapeseed, peanut), but are a very good value when seeking a proper balanced diet.

- Common Vegetable Oil, also refined, made from a mixture of plants. It is a clear and neutral oil, suitable for frying and inexpensive to purchase.
- Thickened vegetable oil, refined and hydrogenated, also known as substitute for butter or margarine. It is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, and is used in the industrial purposes and frying. But also, rich in trans-fatty acids, more harmful to health than saturated fats (butter, cream, etc.), it is supposed to replace.
- Flavored Oils, they are often made by craftsmen, from olive oil "extra virgin" to which is added various herbs and seasonings to add the taste and according to the recipe of each individual: herbs, spices, various condiments, garlic, peppers
- Spiced Oil, an Asian specialty, is obtained by macerating peppers in oil, giving it a beautiful orange color. It is usually very strong.
