Tips on Buying Fresh Sea Foods

The Philippines is surrounded by large bodies of water and sea creatures are the most source of protein. Knowing how to choose the fresh sea foods in the market is essential in having a delicious meal.

Fish

Make sure that fish gills are reddish and eyes are clear and not foggy

Squid

Hold its skin and try rubbing it. If the skin holds tight and doesn't get easily cut then its fresh

Mussel

When buying mussels see to it that it's not open and it does not float on water. If it floats then its not fresh.

Shrimp

In buying Shrimp make sure its skin is more dark in color. Because lighter skin color is the result of being frozen for few days
