Tips for a Perfect Baked Cheesecake

Making a homemade cheesecake is not really difficult. Here are a few tried and true tips to get yours to turn out picture perfect!

  1. Set ingredients out until they reach room temperature for a lighter cheesecake
  2. All cheesecakes crack in the oven, but they won't do it as badly if you will set a pan of water on the oven shelf under the cheesecake as it bakes
  3. Let the cake cool sufficiently before you remove the sides. Be sure it is completely cool before you try to remove the bottom!
  4. Be creative... you can use just about any type of candy or flavoring in the cake, and any type of fruit or topping on it. Pineapple, raspberries, blueberries, cherries, or strawberries make a great topping. Put the fruit in a pan with just a little liquid and some sugar. Cook it 'til the sugar dissolves and then add just a little mixture of cornstarch and water to thicken.
  5. Be sure you press the crust into place firmly with a spoon or using the bottom of a glass so it will hold together when you cut the cake
