Currymania: Eight Exciting Products for Curry Lovers

Curry has captured the taste buds of societies all over the world, as it offers a fresh and versatile flavor in most cultures' cuisines with many variations. It appears not only in Indian cuisine, but also Thai, Japanese, Malay, Chinese, and others. Don't be surprised that curry also comes in many other forms and in many exciting products.

  1. Fiery Curry Perfume

Fiery Curry is one of the unconventional fragrances in the Herbology Collection by Demeter. This fragrance is made up of a smooth blend of lemon grass, kaffir leaves, lime, galangal and cilantro. Since this particular scent is inspired by the spicy Thai version of curry instead of the scent of the hot Indian curry, it has a sweet, citrus smell with a hint of galangal and small, hot chili called "Prik Kee Nu" by the local Thais.
  2. Indian Curry Toothpaste

At $160, one can get a box set consisting 31 tubes of multi-flavored toothpaste by Breathe Palette's. With alternative flavors like L' Expresso and Sweet Salt among others, you can even get to taste the authentic Indian curry flavor. Nevertheless, brushing teeth using curry flavor gets pretty exciting with the curry aftertaste in your mouth, helping you stay alert early in the morning.
  3. Curry-Flavored Candy Bars

Vosges is an American chocolatier that has ventured into specialty chocolate with a twist of exotic spices. "Naga" is one of the Vosges original exotic lineup, which is milk chocolate with Indian curry and coconut milk. I supposed there are several other chocolate manufacturers who are interested in offering curry flavored chocolate looking at the increasing demand of exotic cuisines. Even Nestle at one point also considered developing curry flavored KitKat, however, no final decision was made on this.
  4. Curry Beverage

A Japanese beverage manufacturer, Kimura Beverages produces curry flavored soda in summer 2007. This beverage is said to have very strange sweet and spicy taste that will linger in your mouth for quite sometime.
  5. Curry Ice Cream

"Naga" ice cream by Vosges is an original exotic ice cream lineup, which tastes like sweet Indian curry. It is a delightful blend of sweet curry, fresh coconut milk, turmeric, cumin, ginger, clove and chilies.
  6. Space Curry

The House Foods Corporation of Japan came up with the curry which is fit for space traveling. The curry has a rather thick gravy texture to prevent the molecules from breaking up in low gravity environment. It is reported that the said manufacturer is currently awaiting for approval from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency before their product could be consumed in the International Space Station.
  7. Chocolate Curry

Iqbal Moin, a British chef, took an initiative to develop a recipe called the chocolate curry. The chef said that this curry variation is to help the Britons who previously did not like curry to develop and acquire the delicious taste of this spicy gravy.
  8. Curry Grenade

It was reported that India came up with the latest non-lethal war weapon - curry hand grenade. However the hand grenade works more like teary gas rather than an explosive. The grenade which is made up of curry, peppers and phosphorous, is still at its testing stage.
