It can be difficult in the winter to maintain the summer's healthy resolution of cooking with fresh herbs. Here is a quick easy solution that is sure to brighten up your day and your cooking.
Buy or pick fresh herbs at the end of the summer, wash them, and store them sealed in the freezer in little plastic bags or containers. You don't even have to chop them up, and this is why, when you are ready to use them, just pop them out of the freezer, break or flake off a portion of what you want to use, and drop them in the pot. They crumble in your hands if you just apply a little pressure on them as you sprinkle.
They stay perfectly fresh and taste just like they did the day you picked them. Best thing of all, is the elimination of the fuss of chopping them up, and no cleaning up afterwards.
No more dry, tasteless herbs!
