Cooking With Coconut Oil. A New Taste Sensation

There seems to be no end to the versatility of coconut oil. its an excellent healthy substitute for margarine and butter in all your cooking and baking.

Since adding coconut oil to my diet on a daily basis, I've been discovering more and more uses for it in the kitchen.

I can't believe just how versatile this amazing product is.

For starters, it can be used as a replacement for butter and margarine in all your cooking and baking. Maybe you think its just another fat that you should avoid? This could not be further from the truth.

THE SECRET OF COCONUT OIL:

Coconut oil is comprised mainly of healthy "medium" chain fatty acids. They go directly to the liver and do not circulate in the bloodstream as other fats do. As a result coconut fat is converted immediately into energy. This in turn speeds up the body metabolism and promotes weight loss and an increase in energy. Also, coconut oil is extremely high in "lauric" acid. The same lauric acid you will find in mothers milk.

So, when you replace butter and margarine with coconut oil in your everyday cooking, you are substituting a healthy, weight loss promoting product for fats that are the exact opposite. Namely, butter and margarine.

TRY SOME OF THESE IDEAS:

One evening, steam some baby potatoes or any new potato until tender. Let them cool and put them in the refrigerator until the following day. Melt coconut oil in a skillet. Cut the potatoes into wedges and cook them until golden brown. Salt and pepper to taste. Delicious! You can have them for breakfast with eggs or with your dinner with any main course.

Here is another really great idea. Have you ever purchased that natural peanut butter that comes complete with a half inch oil on the top? I buy it all the time. As far as I'm concerned its the 'only' peanut butter to buy. The smooth, oil free variety is often pre-mixed with icing sugar to give it the smooth, oil free consistency. Avoid that peanut butter like the plague.

When you do buy the natural peanut butter, try this...

Pour out the peanut oil sitting on top and replace it with coconut oil. Be sure its "vigrin coconut oil." The virgin oil has the best coconut taste. When you mix it in you are adding a whole new taste to your peanut butter. At the same time you are mixing in the healthy medium chain fatty acids.

Also, when you cook pasta. Drain it and rinse with hot water as usual and they stir in a tablespoon of coconut oil for a completely different taste.

These are just a few ideas for this remarkably versatile and healthy product.

You can't really lose. You are using a product that tastes great, increases energy and promotes weight loss.
