Most kids think that vegetables are something that they should hate, so most of the time they refuse to even taste a new vegetable, much less eat it.
Here are some tips and tricks that will help in solving this problem.
Let Them Be Picky
Or at least picking. When kids choose their own veggies at the store, they are more likely to at least try them at meal time.
Keep It Weird
If your kids like their frozen peas, well, frozen why not? Lots of kids will eat raw the same vegetables that when cooked send them gagging from the table.
Use A Silly Utensil
Nothing says you have to use a fork to eat your vegetable. Try different silly things, such as an ice cream scoop for mashed potatoes or tongs for carrots. Keep it silly and fun.
Veg Out With Veggies
Follow the Couch Potato Rule: the only snacks kids are allowed to eat in front of the TV are veggies, in any form they like, except potato chips.
Create A Green Scene
Make a broccoli tree and a carrot park bench on a lettuce lawn with a sour cream cloud. Be creative or let the kids get creative and watch how they want more veggies to play with on their plates.
These are just a few ideas to help get kids eating their vegetables. The kids are having fun thinking that they are just playing, but in fact they are actually eating the vegetables and not even knowing. So have fun and eat your veggies.
