Things on toast can get pretty boring. Here's how to zap up your quick snacks.
Cheese on toast: spread marmite over the un-melted cheese then proceed as usual
Sardines on toast: sprinkle grated cheese over the sardines then pop under the grill
Beans on toast: add brown sauce to the beans while you're warming them in the pan
Egg on toast: scramble the egg, add parsley then scoop it onto the toast
Diced mushrooms go well with tip #4
Melt margarine with garlic powder then use it to spread on any of the above rounds of toast
Experiment with different types of bread as well, French loaves can be really versatile for this (and less expensive in supermarkets at the end of the day when they're trying to unload what's left: they can't keep it overnight)
Try peanut butter and jam. Marmite's not bad either.
Melt margarine in a frying pan, mix together raw egg and garlic powder then dip the bread in the mixture before frying it in the pan
My personal favourite: Pre-cooked sausages sliced in half then lots of grated cheese over the top before popping them under the grill. When ready add brown sauce to taste.
