10 Tasty Ways with Toast

Toast is great with butter but there are many other ways of serving it. These recipes are super fast and delicious.

Toast is the simplest of snacks to make. You just drop bread slices into the toaster, or put them under the grill, butter them, and eat, but there are more exciting ways to do this with very little effort.

  1. Top you toast with tomato ketchup and a layer of dry roasted peanuts. This is delicious and very nutritious. Perfect for a lunchtime snack.
  2. Spread with butter and a little curry paste straight from the jar when you fancy a hot and spicy snack.
  3. Cover your toast with mashed banana and sprinkle with grated, or powdered chocolate. (Chocolate drink powder like Ovaltine, or Milo, tastes great.)
  4. Make a mixture of 50/50 vinegar and olive oil and dip your toast into it. This is how the Greeks sometimes serve bread with a meal.
  5. Try Nutella and slices apple, or pear, for a sweet treat. It's heaven
  6. Low fat cream cheese and slices of kiwi fruit provides a nutritious, healthy, low calorie snack for those who are watching their weight. (This one also works well with blueberries, or strawberries.)
  7. Top with ham slices and pineapple rings for a delicious snack. Use cream cheese instead of butter to give an even better taste.
  8. Cover your hot toast with canned, or bottle apple pie filling. (Great with pumpkin pie filling, too.) Sprinkle with cinnamon if you like it.
  9. Spread hot toast with left over spaghetti sauce and top with cheese for an instant pizza. Put under the grill for a few minutes to melt the cheese if you have time.
  10. Cover your toast with cream cheese and spoon prune baby food over the top. It's delicious.

for #4, I suggest the addition of oregano, and perhaps the omission of vinegar.
