I disagreed with my hypothesis that Duracell would last the longest. I came to this conclusion because my data shows that Energizer lasted longer than Duracell by more then 7 hrs.
Some trends and patterns in the results is that it was always the same order of 1st Energizer 2nd Duracell and 3rd Eveready. Energizer always lasted in the 22 hrs section while Duracell was always in the 14 hrs and Eveready was always in the 6 hrs. Duracell always doubled Eveready while Energizer nearly quadrupled the length of time Eveready lasted.
My experiment showed that Energizer outlasted all of the other batteries I tested by at more than seven hours. The Eveready battery, which is a regular, non-alkaline battery, lasted only a bit more then 6 hrs average. The Duracell lasted just more then 15 hours. The Energizer lasted a bit more then 22 hrs.
Conclusion
I thought the Duracell battery would last the longest. I guessed wrong. It was actually Energizer that lasted the longest. In my results I saw that energizer outlasted Duracell by more then 7 hrs and outlasted Eveready by 16 hrs. Eveready lasted least because it is a regular non-alkaline battery while the other 2 Duracell and Energizer are alkaline batteries. I also determined that even though you pay more for a battery you might not be paying for the battery that lasts the longest.

Brand | Average Total Time On |
Eveready | 6 hrs 18 min |
Duracell | 15 hr 15 min |
Energizer | 22 hrs 21 min |
Evaluation
The problem I set out was able to be solved by the method I outlined. It was able to be solved because I was able to gather all equipment and put the battery in the torch ad observed how long it takes for the battery to burn out, and repeat with other batteries.
I don't think there was a better method I could have used. I didn't need to make and improvements or adjustments in my method because my method did the experiment correctly.
The Steps that I used to reach my conclusion were, I looked at my results and background information and saw if it agreed with my hypothesis, which it didn't. I looked at my background information and with that information I was able to write a conclusion.
