Many people see that there friend has the new iPod and decide that "hey I need that too". Take it from me you might not want that at all. There are two main types of mp3 players, Flash drive based players, and Hard-drive based players.
For the music enthusiasts who need to carry their music everywhere you should be shopping in the range of Hard-Drive based products because these generally hold far more space than and Flash drive based players. Yet far too many people with only around 1000 songs think that they need the new 80gb iPod or the 60gb Creative Zen Vision, when all they need is a cheap smaller player.
Hard-Drive based Players
If your one of those people that need to carry over 3000 songs with you where ever you go I would recommend these kind of players. Also if you like to have movies and or lots of photos than these would also be the best player for you.
My preferred Hard-drive based player for only music use is the iPod classic, this player comes in the 80gb version as well as the 160gb version.
For those that like to view movies and photos on their mp3 players you will find the Archos 405, 605, and 705 to work well with your lifestyle. The 405 comes with a 30gb hard-drive as well as a bright 3.5 inch screen. The 605 comes with wifi ability as well as a crisp 4.5 inch touch screen. The player comes in 3 different sizes, a 30gb version as well as a 60gb and 160gb versions.
Flash-Drive based Players
For someone that doesn't generally want a bigger bulky mp3 player this is for you. These types of players are generally smaller and have smaller capacities, but have much faster reactions to the touch.
My first choice for a flash-drive based player is the iPod nano. It comes in two different capacities a 4gb version and an 8gb version. The nano comes in many different colors to suit your personality. Another outstanding feature about this player is that it also plays videos from iTunes.
Another great flash-drive based series of players is the Creative Zen line. This series houses many different features like photo viewing and video.
Whatever your choice maybe please make sure you read reviews of players as well as learn about many players instead of just researching one and then deciding on it.
