Top Three Most Ridiculously Expensive Bottled Water in the World

How much would you pay for a bottle of drinking water?

Water is a necessity for every living thing on earth. In some parts of the world water may be free but for most of us, we pay for its usage daily. Nevertheless, it is a known fact that the consumption of bottled water has more than doubled in less than a decade. In this regard, bottled water has increasingly becoming a profitable business whereby some people may be prepared to pay a large amount of money for a drop of this luxurious water which is definitely more expensive than the price of gasoline. The question is how much would you pay for a bottle of drinking water?

Kona Nigari

This is the world's most expensive bottled water originated from two thousand feet down off the coast of Hawaii. At around $16.75 per ounce or around $2,144 per gallon, Kona Nigari is considered luxury water since it is highly demanded by the Japanese and credited with vast range of medical benefits such as aiding digestion, stress reduction and weight loss. The Kona Nigari is desalinated water with high mineral content, which is bottled by a company called the Hawaii Deep Marine. Since the mineral is highly concentrated, one needs to mix the water with regular drinking water.

Bling H2O

Kevin G. Boyd, a Hollywood writer-producer came with an idea to introduce the so called couture water, Bling H2O. The water will go through a nine-step purification process before it is bottled in Dandridge, Tennessee. The luxury feel does not only come from the taste of the water which had won the gold medal at the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Festival, but also the bottle itself. The water is available in a bottle, stylishly decorated with intricate hand applied Swarovski crystal, frosted and corked. Bling H2O costs around $40-60 per 750 ml bottle and is a favorite among the Hollywood celebrities and functions attended by the hi-socialite circle.

10 Thousand BC

This water comes next in the list whereby the word BC in its name basically refers to the age of the water. The source of this water is actually from melted glacier ice which was environmentally protected for approximately 10,000 years. The said glacier originated from an area in the Coastal Glacier Range in the British Columbia, Canada which is about 200 miles north of Vancouver. The glacier water which is bottled by Source Glacier Beverage Company, Ltd, is said to be naturally pure with high ionic content which can help slow aging process, heighten brain functions and reduce anxiety. A bottle of 750 ml of 10 Thousand BC water can cost around $12.92 to $45.83 depending on the types of bottle used, i.e. plain or bejeweled bottle.

Buying bottled water is the most stupid thing I can think of. (well almost) We overrun the planet with plastic that will be here two thousand years from now, besides spending money to do it. Animals are smarter and better suited to this world than humans.

Good article, Sher.
Some bottles of water that we buy are becoming expensive. The question is, how clean or safe is it? I guess one can ask the same about tap water. But I boiled my water instead of spending money on bottled water. Just a chance I take.

I wish that cars fueled by water would be as efficient as oil
