Reese’s Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs: Review

Reese’s Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs have great peanut butter flavor; however, the cereal puffs in this snack mix do not have a pleasing taste, so I wouldn’t buy them again.

I've always loved peanut butter, so I'm constantly on the lookout for that perfect peanut buttery snack. However, peanut butter can be loaded with fat and calories, so it's hard to find peanut butter treats that fit in with a healthy eating plan. That's what drew me to Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs: this product contains multigrain cereal and Reese's Pieces peanut butter candy.

A Mixed Review

I purchased Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs and I was quite eager to sample this snack. Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs come in a box that contains 7 individual packs, and each separate pack has a net weight of 0.74 oz.

I opened one of the Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs, and poured out the contents into a small dish. The snack contained lots of multigrain cereal puffs and cereal squares, mixed with Reese's Pieces and peanut butter chips. The multigrain puffs and squares were bland, and almost tasteless. I noticed a slight straw like texture that was a bit disappointing; also, I detected a strong taste that had the flavor of cinnamon (strange when you consider that cinnamon isn't listed as an ingredient in Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs).

The Reese's Pieces in Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs tasted great, and so did the peanut butter chips. These peanut butter morsels helped redeem the snack, but there aren't enough of them in each pack to really make an impact on your taste buds.

Nutrition Facts

Each individual pack of Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs is a serving, and each serving contains 100 calories and 4 total fat grams. There are 0 grams trans fat per serving of Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs (but each pack does contain 2.5 grams saturated fat.) Each serving of Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs has 0 milligrams cholesterol, 65 milligrams sodium, 14 grams total carbohydrates, 9 grams of sugars, and 1 gram of dietary fiber.

The abundance of artificial ingredients in Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs is a bit disturbing. Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs contain hydrogenated vegetable oils, artificial flavors and artificial colors (like Blue 1 Lake, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, and Yellow 6 Lake). On the plus side, this snack is made with whole grains.

Conclusion

If you are really in need of a quick, 100 calorie peanut butter snack, Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs will suffice. In my opinion, peanut butter lovers looking for a low calorie peanut butter fix can do better. You'd be better off buying a package of Reese's Pieces and dividing it into 100 calorie portions, or purchasing a Weight Watchers cookbook and making your own peanut butter treats (enjoy a 100 calorie portion, which is about 2 Weight Watchers Points.)

Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs miss the mark as a satisfying low calorie peanut butter treat; pass on this disappointing snack.

Sounds like a great snack, just a pity we don't have it here in Ireland.
