Natural gas is termed as fossil fuel obtained from decomposing waste organic matter whether it may be dead plans, waste vegetables, animal or human dung. Natural gas is a mixture of methane with significant quantities of ethane, propane, butane, carbondioxide, nitrogen and helium. Biogas is another term used for natural gas when it is obtained out of decomposing non-fossil organic material, sewage, sludge, manure, swamps and marshes. It can also be recovered while recovering petroleum.
Natural gas is extensively used as fuel in all our kitchens. Before it can be used as fuel it needs to undergo certain amount of purification as in any other fuels.Methane is the major content in natural gas. Other contents such as helium, butane etc can be further used as individual bi-products.
Natural gas is relatively cheap as compared to other fuels. In different countries it is termed differently. While in some countries it may be termed as LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas), while in many other it may be LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas).
Though natural gas is relatively easy to produce, it is pretty difficult to store and transport due to its relatively low density.Lot of countries have come up with measures to deal with this issue. They have set up natural gas pipelines for transportation. But it is merely impossible across oceans if one country doesn't afford to produce its own and want to import it from another overseas.
