20 Things to Do with a Mobile Phone

There are many things you can do with a mobile phone apart from talking to your friends. Make the most of yours.

  1. Use you mobile phone to send text messages when you can't call the person. Especially if you want to arrange your social life at school, work or college. You can send mesages without attracting attention.
  2. If you missed that important football game? You can get the latest scores on your cell phone.
  3. If you are traveling, you can get live up-to-date traffic alerts.
  4. Take on the spot pictures for news reporting, or to send to family and friends. Show off while you are on holiday by sending photos of all the places you visit.
  5. Access your PC and send posts to your blog if you have one.
  6. Find restaurants, gas stations, cellphone shops, etc. which are closest to your current location.
  7. Check the weather. This can be important if you are going to the beach, or if you are sailing, hillwalking, etc.
  8. Surfing the web. This can fill in time if you have to hang around waiting for trains, planes, buses, etc.
  9. Buying online. You can even pay via your mobile.
  10. Send cash to someone via you mobile phone. Paypal has the facilities for this.
  11. Many modern phones have TV, Video Recording and Audio recording.
  12. Listen to music with a built in mp3 player.
  13. Cell phones that can read bar codes have already been developed. This will have lots of potential for shops, and other commercial operations.
  14. You can even track your kids (or anyone else who needs watching!). Cell phones with built in GPS chips are able to pinpoint the position of the phone and relay the information to another cell phone, PC.
  15. Get help in emergency. You can call 112 from anywhere in the world and your cell phone will be connected to the closest emergency network. This works even if you are out of the coverage area of your phone. It also works with the keypad locked.
  16. Revive a flat phone battery. If your mobile phone battery is dead press *3370#. This will give you an emergency boost from the battery reserve.
  17. Make your cell phone useless to a thief. Each handset has a unique number. Key in #06#A15 and the code will appear on the screen. Write this down. If your phone is stolen call the service provider and give them this code. The handset will be disabled and even if the thief inserts a new sim card, it won't work.
  18. Free directory inquiries. (US only) call (800) 373-3411. This will give you a free call instead of charging you $1.75 for the call.
  19. If you have a car with remote key entry and you leave your "key" inside you can use your cell phone to call a person who has the spare key. Get them to press the key with it close to their cell phone while you hold yours next to the car door. It will open and you can get your key.
  20. Oh, you can also use a mobile phone to make and receive calls.

how can you lock your keys in the car when you have to press the button to lock it

the car key thing doesn't work unless your car unlocks itself by sound, which it doesn't, in like 98% of the times? it's a data stream, which does not transfer through mobile phones..
